J60-800-178 is a high density polyethylene homopolymer intended for the injection molding of beverage closures. Because of its excellent organoleptic properties, this grade is certified as low taste and is intended for use in direct contact with beverages. Parts fabricated from this material exhibit a glossy surface finish and have good impact strength and rigidity. Typical applications include caps and closures for the packaging of still and sparkling water and other injection molded applications where low taste and odor are critical. This material meets the Food and Drug Administration requirements of 21 CFR 177.1520.
